Touko is Robin’s roommate for the first half of the series, staying in a nice townhouse. Robin and Touko get along well, with the older woman snapping at her once for using her Craft to light a burner without warning. Aside from this, it seems at first that Touko’s only other connection to the STN-J team is through her on-and-off relationship with Amon—which Touko denies when asked by Robin. However, it is revealed later on that Touko is Zaizen’s daughter from a previous marriage—thus the reason they have two different last names.

Unfortunately, Touko’s association with Robin and Amon ends up turning her world upside down halfway through the series. When Solomon launches the attack on STN-J and Robin, the townhouse she and Robin share is ransacked and Touko is bound and gagged, being used as a lure for Robin. She is seriously injured when Solomon’s people fire the special runed bullets once used by STN-J during witch hunts on Robin. Touko ends up in intensive care, and is later transferred to a sanatorium after her physical injuries heal and the shock of the attack leave her mentally debilitated.
