Robin is working at the bar, busy chiseling ice into balls, while Doujima rather enthusiastically acts as a waitress. Robin observes the people already in the restaurant, and those who have yet to arrive, while Doujima continues playing the part of a good waitress, greeting the latest guests who have arrived. Robin continues chiseling away at a clump of ice, while an old man comments on the wonderful job she's doing, stating that she'll make a good bartender even if she looks a little too young for the job. Robin stops chiseling to look up at him and thank him just as Doujima walks past. Doujima sort of tilts her head towards Robin, who goes back to what she was doing with the ice. [OP] Michael oversees the surveilance of the security cameras around Harry's as Karasuma brings him some coffee. She asks him how things are going, and he says he hasn't seen anything yet. A man wearing a large trenchcoat walks in a little later that night. The camera focuses in slightly on the newcomer, which Michael notices as he drinks his coffee. The automatic detection sensors built into STN's surveillance cameras have managed to match this new arrival with the statistics of the witch that were given to the group -- 174cm in height, weighing 59kg. Back in the restaruant, Robin and Amon continue serving the patrons of Harry's and carefully observe the man that STN-J's camera detected earlier. The man, Takano was surprised to see that the master had waitresses, and the girls stare at him in surprise. The master comes out, greeting Takano, who only stopped by because he was in the neighborhood. Michael and Karasuma continue to watch Takano and Master while Takano is in there. The next morning, Amon looks at some information in the meeting room. Karasuma stands in the doorway, commenting that he looks like he slept at the office. Amon replies that he just got back from a trip to headquarters with the superintendent. Karasuma asks if there's anything new, and Amon shakes his head. Karasuma walks off, saying that it's not necessary to report everything to him, but she says that Kobari Yutaka never showed up at Harry's. Amon merely replies, "Is that so?" and Karasuma walks away as Sakaki walks in, saying good morning to everyone. Karasuma looks down at his hands, and makes a comment about all the stuff he brought in. Robin and Doujima relax at the bar area, completely bored out of their minds and talking about the slowness. Master comes in, saying both of them look bored. Robin mutters some unintelligiable Japanese, and Doujima asks her what she's talking about. Robin ignores her and asks Master if his business is hurting from the restaurant being so dead. Master isn't quite sure how to answer it, but says that since he's still able to run the restaurant, he's doing just fine. Robin replies that it's a miracle of present days, and Doujima tells her she just made a back-handed comment. Master turns to greet someone, and Robin and Doujima turn around to be greeted to a very annoyed Chief Kosaka. Sakaki finishes up some game he was playing, and asks coffee-drinking Hattori where the chief went. When Hattori doesn't immediately answer, he asks again, and Hattori tells him that he heard him the first time, quite annoyed that Sakaki wouldn't let him finish drinking his tea. Sakaki mutters about Hattori ignoring him, playing it off when the secretary asks what he's complaining about. Sakaki asks once more where Harry went, and Hattori tells him he went to Harry's (of course, after he complains about Sakaki's frequent asking), saying that he's gone to check up on Robin and Doujima, since they apparently can't be left to their own devices. Sakaki says, "No wonder he was so lively", hoping that Kosaka won't return with high blood pressure once he sees how they're doing. Back at Harry's, Kosaka is busy giving both girls a lecture about being slackers. Master tries to step in, saying that he gave both the girls a break because business was slow. Kosaka gives him a world-class glare, and snaps at Doujima for being early to work at Harry's, but consistently late to her real job and demands an explaination. Doujima replies that the chief is livlier today, and Kosaka gets very upset. Robin tells Doujima that Kosaka was lonely because there was no one for him to get angry with at the office. Kosaka has classic "What the HELL!?" look, and Doujima replies that Robin's Japanese is very weird. As the two carry on a conversation, Kosaka sighs and gives up. Amon stares blankly at the screen as he waits for Michael to pick up, then asks about what time the suspect entered Harry's the previous night. Michael says that he came in around 9:30 P.M. Amon observes the survelliance tapes from that time frame, and sees the suspect walking into the bar. He rewinds the tape several times, watching that one particular section over and over again, then he calls for meeting. Once everyone (sans Doujima and Robin, who is outside Harry's watering the plants) comes into the meeting room, he shows them all the clip where the suspect enters the room, and zooms in to focus on one particular patron of the restarant, commenting on his reaction to the suspect's entrance. Karasuma asks about it, then Amon replies that she said the suspect had a similar build to Kobari Yutaka. Karasuma realizes what he's saying, and tells everyone else that the man reacted to the suspect. Sakaki is surprised that other people are also after Kobari. Amon tells them to start looking at surveillance tapes from the last few days to see if the strange man has appeared at Harry's before. Karasuma's voiceover explains Kobari Yutaka's past: STN-J was tipped off two years about about Kobari Yutaka, since he was a witch. The informant was his father, the owner of Harry's. After the betrayal by his father, he managed to escape from STN-J's hunt and disappeared. Amon's voiceover continues: six months after he left Japan, the American branch of Solomon told STN-J about a murder they had thought he committed. Kobari was acting as an assassin for an organization in America. Eight days earlier, STN-J received a report from headquarters, saying Kobari came back to Japan secretly. Sakaki runs into the meeting room, telling them that their suspections had been confirmed. [Eyecatch] Robin and Doujima sit at the bar during the evening hours while business is slow. Master looks up from his work, sensing something. Doujima asks him if there's something wrong, and Master says there isn't. But he's still very concerned about something. Meanwhile, Touko talks to Amon, saying that he hasn't changed--still asking her where all of a sudden. Amon apologizes, while Touko replies that it's unusual. Amon says he hasn't slept because of the case from two years ago coming back, and while he should be thinking about nothing but the case, he's busy thinking about her. Touko says it's strange, and Amon agrees. Touko says that she meant it was weird for him to say such things. Amon replies, telling her that they shouldn't see each other again. Touko says she wondered when he would say that as Amon looks up to see Robin approaching. Touko says she has a question, and Amon asks her what it is. Touko says, "Are you..." Robin bends down, watching Amon talking his communicator. She straightens up when he closes it and rolls down the window. She hands him some food sent by Master, but he does nothing. The man from earlier sits quietly in a corner, drinking. Robin passes him, gets a look at him, then walks off. Later, the man leaves payment for his drink, then walks off. Michael says that he's moving, so Sakaki and Karasuma crowd around Michael's computer to watch. Michael enlarges it as they watch Kobari enter and the strange man leave. The two men run into each other in the hallway, and the man bumps into Kobari. Kobari looks at the man, but says nothing. Michael says that the man is leaving much earlier than usual... Robin finishes cleaning up a table, and informs the office that the man has left. Michael tells her that they already know, and that it didn't look like anytying suspectious happened. Robin says that he may have given up, and Michael agrees. Doujima and Robin finish cleaning up, while a lone customer sleeps at one of the tables. Robin prepares to wake him up, but Master tells her to leave him alone then dismisses them. After they leave, Master turns off the lights and goes up to the customer. Kobari and Master have a conversation under the cover of darkness. Kobari is upset that his father would be scared of his own son, like the pathetic traitor he is. Amon walks in and over to Michael, who is listening to his music on full blast, asking if Karasuma and Sakaki went home. Michael replies that they had because the man left Harry's earlier than normal. Amon's interest is piqued, and he asks to see the image from when the man left the restaruant. Master asks his son if he still holds a grudge over him. Kobari says that he doesn't but he did at first, when he left the country. Kobari: "Do you understand?! The feelings of a person who gets treated like a monster, and then abandoned?!" [Flashback of Kobari once his powers are awakened...] Kobari says that even though he's a human with a strange power, his father abandomed him, continuing by saying that he wanted to come back to Japan one day to kill his father and show him what he's been through. However, Kobari says things turned out different, and bends over. Master bends down, calling his son by his real name. Kobari replies that he's calling him by something so human, to which Master replies that he;s always tried to think of him as a normal human. But, once his powers became too much for even Master to control, the thought became unforgivable. Worried that he was going to harm someone, Master needed to "break the spell that runs in [his] body." Kobari knew this, something that he realized once he was in America kiling people. He clutches his wound opens more. Master tells his son not to move or talk, but Kobari won't listen, saying that he is going to die a traitor's death for betraying the organization. He tells his father the only reason he betrayed the organization was to see him and apologize. Kobari's dying words to his son are "I'm sorry." Master holds his son close to him as he sobs, then looks behind to see Amon standing the doorway. Master offers a tearful explaination to Amon, saying that he didn't abandon his son out of the fear he would harm anyone, but because of his power--a cursed destiny that runs through his blood. He finishes by saying he has no right to call himself a father. The next day, Master and Robin are relaxing and preparing for the evening when he asks what happened to Doujima. Robin replies that she got bored with the job since it's "her usual Thursday" (again, weird Japanese). Master smiles, saying that she means Doujima is back to her usual routine. Robin nods, and Master offers her a cup of espresso. Robin asks Master about his son, wanting to know what he thought about him. Master replies that the only thing he can say is that Yutaka (Kobari) was his son. Robin looks confused, and says "Was?" while Master looks at a column, sort of spaced out. [ED]
