The scene changes over to the apartment Touko and Robin share. Robin has apparently crashed on the couch, as a result of coming in late from an STN-J assignment. Touko walks in, sees Robin passed out on the couch, and comments about her sleeping there "like that" once again as she goes to open some curtains. Robin pulls back her trenchcoat and mumbles, "Good morning." Touko heads to the kitchen and asks Robin if she would like some coffee. Robin stares out of the window for a while, and asks Touko about her relationship with Amon--inquiring whether the two of them are boyfriend and girlfriend. Touko replies, "Yeah, right." and Robin's conversation is ended by her phone ringing. Robin answers it while the camera is focused on Touko's back--it is Amon on the other end. Touko turns to listen to part of the conversation. Touko turns around when Robin says "Okay." [OP] STN-J members look over pictures and other evidence recovered from the marina the mangled car was pulled up from. Michael explains that no 'natural' causes could result in the car being that badly crushed. As she watches more images of the car pop up on the screen, Robin says, "Such a powerful ability," as Haruto adds "Assuming that it was a witch, that is." Michael continues, explaining the body found in the car was that of Kasai Ryouji, a man Amon explains was involved in the robbery of 20 million yen from a cash transport vehicle. Apparently, Kasai worked for the firm the money was stolen from for three months prior to the robbery. Karasuma says Kasai was most likely the suspect, and Doujima replies, "So what? Are we supposed to find 20 million yen by ourselves?" Zaizen tells them not to worry about it, as the case is currently under the jurisdiction of the police. Amon informs everyone else on STN-J's objectives: protect the police as they investigate, and hunt the witch. After the meeting, Robin goes to Harry's to relax somewhat. Harry asks her how things have been for her recently, and Robin says "It feels like I'm racing against time everyday. I couldn't even eat breakfast today." Harry looks concerned, tells her to take care of herself, and offers her another espresso when her phone rings again. Robin answers it... Amon and Robin wait outside of a hospital as Amon explains the cash transporter was admitted to the same hospital. Amon says they're going to ask him some questions, even though his statement is already on record with the police as they walk through the halls of the hospital. When they talk to the transporter, he seems quite upset at having to give his statement once more. He explains the steering wheel stopped working for no reason, not a driving mistake on his part. Robin asks about the steering wheel getting stuck, and the transporter says he has no idea _how_ it happened. Amon mentions the results of the inspection showed there was nothing wrong with the car. The driver angrily replies that they are suspecting him of wrongdoing when he had nothing to do with it. He gets tired of their questioning, rolls over in the bed, and ignores them. Kosaka reads the article on Kasai's death at his desk while Michael pounds away at the keyboard. The computer beeps, and Michael says, "And here it is." He calls Zaizen, giving him information he intercepted from the police about a guy Kasai used to know--Tazawa Tsuneo, who used to work at a scrap factory. Zaizen, in between drags on his cigar, asks if Tazawa is on the witches'list. Michael says no. Zaizen asks him if the police have done anything with him, and Michael replies that they've "already made their move", asking if Zaizen would like to take some inititive. Zaizen says, "No, until we have solid evidence that Tazawa is a witch, we can't intervene. Tell them to keep an eye on the situation." Michael replies, in English, "Yes, boss." Two men walk out of a car, and through the halls of a rundown building, looking for Tazawa. Both men enter a room in complete disarray, with garbage all over and unoccupied except for a cage bird. They hear the revving up of a car, and immediately determine it to be Tazawa speeding off. Tazawa turns a corner into an alley and immediately cut off by Karasuma and Doujima. Tazawa growls, and Karasuma's car begins to tremble. Both women run out, and the car is immediately crushed. Tawazwa speeds away, nearly running Doujima over. The two men (both undercover policemen) follow him. Karasuma calls Michael, telling him what happened and adds that Tazawa is the witch they're looking for. As Tazawa drives away from the cops, a small boy in the back complains about being thirsty. Tazawa hands the boy a can of juice, and the boy thanks his "oji-san". Michael informs Amon that the police were chasing Tazawa, then lost him at the Sasajima intersection, which happens to be near the scrap factory he used to work for. Meanwhile, Robin plays with her new glasses while watching Amon, magnifying and shrinking his head as she moves it farther and closer to her. [AN: Cute, really... o.O] Amon asks him where the scrap factory is located, so they can hunt Tazawa. Tazawa is outside of the car, and placing it into a car crusher. He leaves his nephew, in a drug-induced sleep. He stands outside of the crusher building as he watches the car being crushed. At the same moment, Amon and Robin pull up, with Haruto leading them in his motorcycle. Tazawa runs away. Amon gets out of the car, and tells Haruto to stop the crusher. Haruto runs into the control room, asking how to stop the machine. Robin tells him to stand back and blows it up to stop the crusher. Haruto rushes out, snapping at Robin about her glasses. Robin, innocently, replies that she forgot about them while Haruto raves that she was trying to set him on fire. Robin calmly points out that since he has an Orbo-filled cross, the fire won't burn him. Haruto snaps back, "That's not the point!" Amon walks over to the crusher while the two have a fight and is startled. He tells Haruto to call Michael and get an ambulance for the sleeping child in the car. [Eyecatch] Robin sits in the child's hospital room and the doctor informs her that he most likely drank a juice with a drug in it, but he was otherwise fine. Robin watches the little boy and replies, "That's good." In the meeting room, Michael explains that Kasai was only used to get information on the cash transport they robbed, with Tazawa being the brains behind the operation. Amon replies that STN-J's problem is the ability Tazawa used to attack Karasuma's car. Zaizen says that most witches hide their abilities, only showing his or her ability when they want to threaten others or mentally unstable without any control over their powers. Michael says both men were heavy gamblers, and Haruto reasons they were probably fighting over money the day before. Karasuma says that Tazawa may have planned to take the money for himself. Amon says no matter the circumstances behind it, Tazawa has opened up a "Pandora's box" and must be stopped before he uses his powers again. Karasuma asks about the little boy, and Michael pops up information on Kudou Mamoru, a distant relative Tazawa was taking care of for the last six months since his parents died. In the hospital, Mamoru wakes up and the doctor asks him if he's hurt anywhere. Mamoru shakes his head, and the doctor tells him he'll be staying in the hospital for a few days to make sure he's alright. He turns to Robin and Doujima, telling them to call him if he starts to develop a headache. Robin tells Mamoru he's just fine, and Doujima asks him if there's anything he'd like. Mamoru starts asking for his uncle (oji-san), asking where he is. Doujima and Robin look sad, not sure what the tell him. Robin later asks if Mamoru even realizes his uncle is dead, adding in how concerned he was about Tazawa. Doujima replies that in a way, Tazawa was his guardian, even if he was "more like an oni." Robin, confused about her word choice, says "Oni?" Doujima tells her that an oni is the Japanese equivalent of a troll or a goblin, then stopping to correct herself. Robin says, "A demon? You mean, like a witch?" Doujima turns to look at Robin as she walks off. They leave for Kazawa's apartment, where they find the place loaded with police officer and detectives. Doujima explains they came to pick up Mamoru's clothes and belongings, with Robin adding in "Also, his parakeet and some food for it." The detective the two talk to tells them they'll send whatever Mamoru needs later, since they are forbidden to enter without a formal warrant, despite being people from STN. Doujima gets angry and snaps "The Boy is in the hospital! Don't you understand?" Finally, the detective in gray walks over to the door and tells the detective to get whatever they need for the boy. The other detective begins to protest, then tells Robin and Doujima to wait while he gathers Mamoru's things. The second detective apologizes, and asks them not to think so badly of them for following the law. Doujima's face falls, and she says, "Okay..." The first detective comes back, with a bag of clothes and Mamoru's parakeet. He hands the items to them, and tells them to leave. Doujima grabs the items from his hands, and walks off. Robin turns, thanks the two detectives, and runs after Doujima. The angry detective asks his partner what exactly is STN, and he tells him to forget about it or else he'll become like other cops who disappeared in search of the truth behind the organization. Doujima stops, and turns around to look at the detectives, mumbling about how angry they make her. An old woman looking out into the hallway asks Doujima if something was wrong, then recognizing the parakeet in her hands as Mamoru's. Robin asks if she knows about Mamoru, and the old woman explains to them that Mamoru's been tossed around between his relatives since his parents died before ending up in Tazawa's custody, being left alone most of the time. She adds that Mamoru was "strange," having the ability to bend spoons in front of everyone. Doujima interrupts her, asking her if she was sure it wasn't Tazawa who bent them. The old woman cackles and says Tazawa was a lazy drunk who only knew how to "bend his belly button" [Something extremely perverse according to Rice-Box's notes]. Doujima is flabbergasted by her response and makes a weird face while Robin kind of rolls her eyes off to the side. Back at STN-J Headquarters, Michael finds that there's a trace of a witch in a second degree relative of Mamoru's. Amon says that Tazawa wanted to get rid of Mamoru once he was finished with the boy. Doujima and Robin are headed back to the hospital with Mamoru's things, Amon informs Robin over the phone that Factory is headed to the hospital to pick him up before the police have a chance. Robin starts to mention something about Factory when Amon interrupts her by saying "Personal feelings are not allowed." Doujima continues, saying "Although he was being used by Tazawa, he's already killed one person." Robin looks upset with both of them as they head to the hospital. Once they arrive there, they find Mamoru's hospital room completely empty. Doujima calls the nurse to ask if he is undergoing another examination. The nurse replies he had his last exam twenty minutes earlier. Doujima runs off while the nurse continues to ask if something is wrong. Tazawa is running around an abandoned house, and walks into a room. His eyes fall upon a small metal locker, and he chuckles as he walks to it. Inside, there is a bag full of the 20 million yen he stole with Mamoru's help. He begins to chuckle once more, then he hears the police pulling up around the building. He gets scared, and his fear increases when he turns around to see Mamoru standing behind him. Mamoru says, "Uncle, it's me..." Tazawa stands still in shock, unable to say a word to the boy. Michael tells Robin and Doujima to meet up with Amon and everyone else while the police have him trapped, telling them the location. Once everyone arrives, they see the police cars crushed and smoldering. Doujima wonders if Mamoru did this to protect Tazawa from the cops. Amon tells them to start looking for Mamoru before they escape. Tazawa and Mamoru are walking around a train station. Tazawa, exhausted from running and carrying two bags of money, collapses behind the boy. Mamoru turns around and tells him to pick up the money. As he picks up the money, Mamoru asks Tazawa if he tried to kill him. Tazawa freezes, and replies, "Why would I do something like that?" Mamoru asks him if he's going to pick the money up, and Tazawa tells him to listen to him. Mamoru tells him to keep picking up the money, then asks if he was a problem. Tazawa replies that he can have all of the money. Mamoru sort of chuckles, saying "That's a weird thing for you to say, Uncle! This is *MY* money. I got this with my power, right? You and Mister Kasai tried to take my money." Tazawa apologizes, then runs away from the boy, running in between two cars. Mamoru, using his power, starts to crush Tazawa between teh two cars. Tazawa begs him to stop and at that moment, Robin and everyone appear just in time to see Mamoru crush his uncle to death. Mamoru turns to the group, seeing most of them pointing Orbo guns at him. He starts crying, explaining that his uncle tried to kill him. He asks if he's going to be taken away, and Robin looks at Amon. All of them lower their weapons and look the boy. Factory pulls up the group of STN-J members standing near their cars. Mamoru talks to his bird, telling it that they won't do anything him, since he's only a child. Factory stops, and men in white chemical suits come out and take the bird away from Mamoru. Then, Factory drives away as Robin watches, asking, "What is Factory...?" The others start getting into their cars, and Amon says, "Let's go." Robin gets one last look at the disappearing Factory truck, and follows. [ED]
