As the camera pans past a park bench, it focuses in on a corpse. Crows nearby start making noise. Amon hands Robin a pair of glasses, and Robin says her eyes are fine. Amon walks off, then Robin picks up the glasses once more--insisting that there is nothing wrong with her eyes. [OP] Amon pulls up to Touko's apartment, and Touko gets out. She knows asking Amon to come up to her apartment for a bit is out of the question, because he won't She closes the door, and he drives off. Touko walks into her apartment and sees Robin is nowhere to be found. She looks for her, and finds her cleaning up the bathroom. Robin explains that it's a habit--from her days in the monastery where she had chores. The scene switches to a church, where Robin prays while an organ plays. She walks down a path past a young girl painting, moving closer to her. Looking over the girl's shoulder, she comments that her painting is quite nice. The artist agrees, and says she sees Robin come by every morning. Robin explains that she goes off to pray to God, and the artist says she believes and prays to God as well. She introduces herself as Sayoko, and Robin introduces herself to her as well. Sayoko: Robin? That's a beautiful name. Crows in a nearby tree watch the two girls... At Raven's Flat, Kosaka tells Robin to look over some data Amon left for her--cases that were unsolved for the past two years. Kosaka believes that the cases have little involvement from witches, but he wants her to look over them just to be sure. Robin asks where Amon went; Kosaka replies that he and Haruto went out. Hattori wonders outloud why Amon and Haruto didn't take Robin with them, with agreement from Doujima. Kosaka asks Doujima what happened with _her_ job and she gets upset, claiming that she IS doing her job. Kosaka asks her what she is doing with her magazine, as Doujima claims the magazine is a part of her case. Kosaka doesn't quite buy it. ^.~ Robin examines the data at her workstation, and Michael comments that they're all "dreadful cases" that could have been committed by either humans or witches. Robin then comes across the file for the Yotsuga Pond Park case, in which three men were found dead from external wounds and lacerations. Robin comments that she walks through that park daily when she goes to pray, and that she didn't know about it. Michael replies that the cases happened four months before she showed up in Japan, so naturally she wouldn't have known about it. The two remain quiet for a while, then Robin comments that the killer could still be there. Karasuma asks Robin if she would like to join her on an investigation, but first offers to take her to lunch. Karasuma and Robin eat lunch at Harry's, where Robin tries on her glasses. She asks Karasuma if she can read what Robin is thinking right now. Karasuma says she isn't sure, so Robin asks her to read her heart (emotions--kokoro). KARASUMA: Amon... partner... left alone... why always? Robin is impressed with Karasuma, saying that she really canread people's minds. Karasuma replies that she didn't even use her ability, since she could tell that without using her power. She adds that she can only read strong feelings that are directed towards something, not people's minds. Robin mentions that Karasuma is S-class, and Karasuma is surprised that a Craft-user like Robin would know about ability classes. Robin says that she really doesn't care, since she is only A-class. Karasuma mentions that Robin could go up to S-class quickly, if she improved her aim with her Craft, then asks why she cannot aim correctly. Robin says she isn't sure... Sayoko walks past a group of crows pecking at some trash. She watches in fear as a crow flies toward her... [EYECATCH] Robin walks over to Karasuma in the park, and hands her some ice cream. Karasuma says that they will be in big trouble of the boss sees them lounging around. Robin asks her if she would like to come over to her place on the way back. Karasuma is surprised, and mentions that associating with co-workers outside of work is "taboo". Robin says that it doesn't matter. Karasuma smiles and says it sounds like fun. Karasuma and Robin walk down a path. Karasuma mentions the serenity and peacefulness of the park, and finds it hard to believe that such a horrendous crime could have taken place there. She mentions how the media made a big issue over the incident, and says now it seems like nothing ever happened. Robin looks over to one side and sees Sayoko in the middle of a rather ugly part of the park, with nothing painted on her canvas. Karasuma asks her if she knows the girl, and Robin says she only spoke with her once. At the office, Haruto sits down and says he learned nothing. Amon follows in behind Haruto and looks over to Robin's workstation. Michael mentions that Robin and Karasuma went to the park together to investigate. Amon walks off. Karasuma and Robin look for clues in the same area Sayoko was attacked by the birds. They find nothing. Robin asks Karasuma if she thinks the murderer could be human or a witch, and Karasuma answers that it possibly is the work of a witch. She explains that the victims were cut alive and that they did not have enough time to respond and defend themselves. Karasuma says they should go, but Robin says there is something bothering here, so the two stay in the area. Robin finds Sayoko in a very isolated and ugly place. Karasuma continues investigating, when she finds some crow feathers on the ground--and eventually dead crows. Robin says something to Sayoko, but the girl does not respond. Karasuma touches one of the dead crows, and feels the essence of the murderer, discovering that the one responsible for the deaths is Sayoko. Robin reaches out to touch Sayoko on the shoulder, then looks up to see all the crows gathering around them. Robin says, "Crows?", and Sayoko stands up, facing the crows and chanting something. Robin is shocked. Karasuma puts two and two together, and immediately calls for Robin. Robin watches what Sayoko is doing, and shoves her down to knock her out of the trance. Sayoko sits on the ground, chanting that Robin has "contaminated her" by getting her dirty and begins attacking her. Karasuma appears, calling out Robin's name. Robin tells Karasuma to hide as she attempts to use her Craft on Sayoko. Sayoko says that she cannot forgive people who contaminate the world as she continues to attack Robin. KARASUMA: This kind of ability cannot be contained by Orbo. Sayoko continues her attack on the tree Robin hides behind as Robin puts her glasses on. She rushes out from behind the Tree and manages to accurately hit Sayoko's hands with her Craft. Sayoko screams as Amon shoots her twice, with Haruto backing him up. Factory is called in, and they take Sayoko with her. Haruto mentions that there is no record of the girl being listed with STN or anyone related to her. Karasuma replies that the number of people carrying "witch genes" is increasing. Haruto says Sayoko's victims were lucky, even though they were killed for disturbing her paintings. KARASUMA: Witches, who eliminate people who contaminate theirworld... witch hunters, who eliminate witches who contaminate the human world. Surpringly, what we're doing could be the same as them. Robin stands silently in awe, holding the glasses Amon gave her... [ED]
